- In October of 2016, a 19-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman were killed when their cars collided on Highway 98 in the Magnolia Springs community of Baldwin County. Earlier that same month, a University of South Alabama Medical School professor of orthopedic surgery was killed on Interstate 65, near the Stockton community, when his car left the road.
- In August of 2016, two young adults were killed and three others seriously injured in an accident in the Summerdale community of Baldwin County. Summerdale Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, which led to a high-speed chase resulting in the collision. One of the injured was a 3-year-old child, who was transported by helicopter to an area hospital.
