Patrick Montgomery was born in Anniston, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Economics from Auburn University in 1999. While at Auburn, he was a member of the Honors College. Patrick received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2003. In law school, he was a member of the Alabama Law Review.
After graduating law school, Patrick worked with, and eventually became a Partner at, a Birmingham law firm representing insurance companies in bad faith, and coverage litigation, as well as their insureds in catastrophic personal injury, automobile and trucking negligence. He has tried more than forty jury trials to verdict and participated in countless hearings, bench trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations throughout the State and Federal Courts of Alabama. Patrick now uses his experience to assist people who have been injured by the wrongful conduct of others.
Patrick has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine on several occasions. In the past several years alone, Patrick has received jury verdicts of $2.5 million, $865,000, and $110,000. In addition, Patrick has managed several cases to a successful resolution recently, including settlements of $5.0 million, $2.5 million, $2.0 million, and $1.25 million (as well as thousands of others). These settlements span the spectrum between workplace injury claims involving the malfeasance of third parties, to automotive claims.
Patrick is a member of the Alabama State Bar (since 2003), all Federal bars in the State of Alabama, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Outside of the office, Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife, Kate, and two daughters, Caorline and Emma Kate. On Saturdays in the Fall, he enjoys watching Auburn football, although they have made it difficult for him of late. He resides in Fairhope, and is a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.
