David Allen

David was born on a U.S. Navy base in Okinawa, Japan but his family moved to Baldwin County while he was still very young. He attended Fairhope High School in Fairhope, Alabama, captained the soccer team, and graduated in 2008. He matriculated to Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama where he studied Political Science and Philosophy, played college soccer, and graduated cum laude in 2012. He was offered a scholarship and accepted admission to the University of Iowa: College of Law. While at Iowa, David performed academic research in the areas of constitutional rights for probationers and parolees and the evolution of the death penalty in American criminal courts. He also worked for the University of Iowa Legal Clinic: Immigration Unit, where he represented refugees from sub-Saharan Africa and southeast Asia. David graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015, and sat for the Uniform Bar Exam in Montana. He passed on his first attempt with a sufficient score to transfer his credentials to any accepting state—including Alabama. David returned home and began practicing in Alabama in 2016, and joined Caldwell Wenzel & Asthana, PC in 2017. His primary legal interests are criminal defense, post-conviction relief, and family law.

Outside of the office David enjoys spending time with his family and friends, international travel, soccer, tennis, and flying his drone. He is successful marathon runner and triathlete.
